Alberto Bautista

Aggieland Tennis' Owner & Texas A&M Men's Tennis Athlete '13

Alberto Bautista was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1990. He started his tennis journey at the age of only five years old. He eventually moved with his family to McAllen, Texas where his true love for tennis started growing as he trained at the local indoor facility. Alberto then started playing competitive tournaments at the age of 10. He then continued his career at the "John Newcome Tennis Academy" in New Braunfels, TX. Reaching the top 5 in Texas for every age division as a junior and achieving number 1 in Texas for 16's and 18's.

During 2007, he competed in the "International Tennis Federation" circuit for juniors which he was able to achieve a ranking of #305 in the world. He was able to compete at a very high level and saw that his next step was "Divison 1" in college tennis. Alberto, took a year off school to play futures and then got recruited by Texas A&M University in 2009.

During his college career, he played in the line up for singles and doubles.  The Texas A&M team was able to achieve a top 10 ranking and win a "Big 12 Conference Championship" in 2011. Unfortunately, during his third year in college, Alberto suffered a back injury and was not able to continue playing competitive tennis.

However, this did not stop Alberto pursuing his passion for tennis and has acquired a lot of years of experience with the sport and loves teaching people of all ages. He eventually married his wife Ana, and he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and fishing during his time off from the tennis courts.
